So, what is pet insurance?
Pet insurance works a lot like normal insurance. Depending on the type of policy you buy, it can cover everything from routine care, like checkups and vaccinations, to injury and serious illness.
So pet insurance really exists? We never heard of such a thing when I was growing up.
Pet insurance has become more mainstream as veterinary costs have increased. Not only is the same kind of care more expensive that it used to be, there are now treatments that weren’t available even a few years ago. Vets can treat and save pets that would have died back when we were kids. But those treatments are expensive.
